Babies and kids go through a lot, starting long before birth. In-utero positioning, the birth process itself, early falls, growth spurts, and hours spent in car seats or baby gear can all create tension in a child’s body. Gentle chiropractic care helps release that tension, support the nervous system, improve mobility, and optimize things like sleep, feeding, digestion, and overall regulation so your child can grow and develop with less strain.
PEDIATRICS
Everything you need to know
Is chiropractic care safe for babies and kids?
Yes. Pediatric chiropractic care looks nothing like an adult “crack and pop” adjustment. Techniques are extremely gentle and specific. I use an instrument to adjust that uses very little pressure, along with cranial sacral work tailored to your child’s size and needs. I assess first, move slowly, explain what I am doing, and always work within your child’s comfort and tolerance.
What does a pediatric chiropractic visit look like?
We start with a detailed history about pregnancy, birth, feeding, sleep, milestones, and your child’s current concerns. Then I do a head-to-toe assessment of posture, movement, muscle tone, and tension patterns. Adjustments may be done while your baby is in your arms, on your chest, resting on a pillow, or playing on the table. The visit is relaxed, kid led, and we take breaks as needed.
Can chiropractic help with things like breastfeeding struggles, colic, or reflux?
It can often be a helpful piece of the puzzle. Tension in the neck, jaw, shoulders, or diaphragm can make it harder for babies to latch well, transfer milk efficiently, or settle comfortably. My job is to identify and gently release those patterns, then work with you and your feeding team so your baby can use their body more effectively.
How many visits will my child need?
That depends on your child’s age, what is going on, and how long it has been happening. Acute issues may shift in just a few visits, while bigger patterns around feeding, posture, or regulation usually need a short season of care and then occasional check ins. I will always be clear with you about what I see, why I am recommending care, and how we will track progress.
